Escorted Mountain Bike Travel Tours
An Australian tour business owner, Tony Evans, has come up with an off-beat new travel idea that has launched a new portfolio to travel tours to do with his mountain bike. The idea was to offer escorted motorcycle tours, and his company Travel Directors currently offers three to choose from: Lhasa to Kathmandu, The Trail of Genghis Khan which goes from Irkutsk in Siberia to Beijing over 22 days, and The Heart of Africa which travels from Lake Victoria to Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in 21 days. Mr. Evans' philosophy of travel is very particular.
He doesn't just want to create another tour. He sees a tour as an art form, and so it''s important to create a beautiful and surprising tour. A good example is the company's Brazil tour, where they stop at the most famous football stadium in Rio, the Macarana, to take in a match -but they don't tell anyone in advance. They just arrive at the stadium.
